Health benefits of Ube – African pear

It’s by some considered the best accessory for eating boiled or roasted corn. Studies have shown that the African pear contains essential ingredients for warding off diseases and can help protect women against postmenopausal breast cancer.

Ube which has been described as a hypoallergenic fruit has an indigo colored covering over a greenish pulp and a firm seed inside. It also contains carbohydrates, fat (no cholesterol), vitamins (C, B1, B6, Folate, Niacin) and minerals (Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Phosphorous, Iron, and zinc).
