Back in 2007, Tyler Perry’s fourth feature film “Why Did I Get Married” followed eight married college friends who reunite for an annual retreat in the snowcapped mountains of Colorado. With each couple harboring an explosive secret from their respective partner, what began as a weekend of festivities ended disastrously as saucy secrets and hidden agendas were unveiled.
A sequel “Why Did I Get Married Too?” which was set in the Bahamas followed in 2010 and sixteen years later, Perry is returning to the marital drama with Italy being the destination for a reunion.
In ‘Why Did I Get Married Again?’ Angela (Tasha Smith) and Marcus (Michael Jai White) head to Europe as their daughter prepares to tie the knot. After being apart for quite some time, they quickly learn that as much as things change, they also stay the same. Realizing their children have grown up to be so much like them, they must reflect on the examples they’ve set and ask themselves that age-old question: Why did they get married … again?
Written, directed and co-starring Tyler Perry, Armani Greer plays Jasmine and Everett Osborne is Wesley, her athlete fiancé who happens to be the son of Roselyn (Taraji P. Henson), a successful entrepreneur and longtime member of the Married friend group.
The returning cast includes Jill Scott as Sheila, Richard T. Jones as Mike. Lamman Rucker as Troy and Sharon Leal as Dianne.
