Ayo Edebiri will host NBC’s Emmy-winning late-night comedy showcase “Saturday Night Live” for the first time on Feb. 3. Edebiri, who stars on “The Bear,” recently won an Emmy, Critics Choice and Golden Globe Award. She also voiced a teenager with big dreams in the film “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” an animated series of crime-fighting turtles.
Jennifer Lopez will make her fourth appearance as a musical guest, having previously hosted three times. Her upcoming album, “This Is Me … Now,” and her narrative driven, cinematic original on Amazon, “This Is Me … Now: A Love Story,” will be released Feb. 16.
“SNL” airs Jan. 27 with host Dakota Johnson and musical guest Justin Timberlake.
The series, created by Lorne Michaels, features a guest host each week for the variety sketch program. Audiences greet each episode with new enthusiasm to see how that celebrity will handle the challenges of a live 90-minute show.
Past hosts on the program which debuted 47 years ago on October 11, 1975 include Tiffany Haddish, Alec Baldwin, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Rock.
